Creating a Resume that Secures the Interview

The first step in securing a job interview is the resume. When an employer has 100 candidates competing for the same position they do not have time to read each resume submitted in detail. Be sure your resume is clear, concise and professional. A resume should be one page. The employer does not need to know every position you have ever held or every activity you have participated in. If you feel you have valuable information to expand on, expand on it at the interview. The resume should have details on how to contact the applicant. Name, address and phone number suffice.
